My favorite anime would have to be Clannad and Clannad Afterstory. https://myanimelist.net/anime/2167/Clannad https://myanimelist.net/anime/4181/Clannad__After_Story I was a young impressionable boy when I saw these, and I know some people who don't like them. Personally, I feel like I was very much affected by these anime due to the strong emotions and importance it puts on family. It's definitely a slog to get through, and starts rather slow, but I really love the main character and the girls, as well as his goofy best friend. It's also very sad, and I cried many times before finishing the anime. I love many other anime, but there's so many to list and I don't remember all of them because I watched most of them a long time ago. These include Steins;Gate and Higurashi, as mentioned above, as well as Code Geass. A lot of the anime in this thread are very good as well.
