@Alserator Look at the bright side of it, Fortnite is collecting the kids and keeps them away from your beloved multiplayer games more than any game ever could. Fortnite is like a kindergarten for people who wanna enjoy their ''free time'' from that audience.
I don't play Fortnite because I'm terrible at shooters(I know with practice I could get better, but I cbf). My bf however does play it. From what I can tell it is mostly because it is a Battle Royale. He has played a good amount of other Battle Royale games too. Looting, survival, and last one standing. I can see how that CAN be fun. I can also see how the cartoony aesthetic can turn people off, but that is also what draws people in.
I will say I enjoyed watching movies that focused on Battle Royales like "The Hunger Games" and the Japanese "Battle Royale" movie.
I have a problem with shooters too but I found a royale game that I enjoy. It's the Southsun Survival activity that Guild Wars 2 holds on Wed and Sat. It's fun even with 3-4 players and you can even continue playing even after you are eliminated during that round (as a ghostly mote). Here's an old video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjOzzNNQ7HE
That lot of people are mostly beetween 7-15 years old.
For real, those kids are so annoying.

Not getting the German humor, but he does seem to be actually enjoying playing Fortnite though?
Fortnite can be fun with friends, but the interactions and what we do with them themselves are more entertaining than the game.
